New marathons added in March 2017

Super MarathonSuper Marathon – June 10, 2017 – North Bend, WA – The Super Marathon is a point-to-point downhill marathon race on a scenic gravel rail-trail 50 miles east of Seattle, Washington. The course is a Boston qualifier and has the best profile in the country for a fast time due to the consistent gentle downhill grade and the low starting elevation. The first three miles are flat, cold, foggy and damp inside an unlit tunnel. Once out of the Tunnel, the gravel trail starts down the hill and keeps on going down, 2050 feet in the next 23 miles. It’s never steep enough to be uncomfortable; you just feel like you’re having a great race.

New marathons added in January 2017

Whistler Canyon MarathonWhistler Canyon Marathon – October 7, 2017 – Oroville, WA – Enjoy an autumn run through golden larch, quaking aspen, and evergreens in north central Washington. Keep your eyes peeled for bighorn sheep and mule deer as you ascend the single track through rocky Whistler Canyon and up to Black Diamond Lake. The trail then opens up to old logging roads being reclaimed by the forest. This race takes you through sagebrush-steppe and montane forest ecosystems, with sweeping views of the valley below.

Inaugural marathons added in November 2016

Presidential Inauguration International MarathonPresidential Inauguration International Marathon – January 29, 2017 – East Meadow, NY – This event has been selected by Marathon Adventures to be the North American venue for its “Triple 7 Quest”, involving seven marathons or seven half marathons on seven continents in seven days. Join a field of about 25-30 folks from all over the world who will be attempting this feat. The course itself is eight 5k loops in Eisenhower Park and is certified as a Boston qualifier.

Paleface MarathonPaleface Marathon – October 15, 2016 – Spicewood, TX – A short drive from Austin, near the small town of Spicewood, this trail running course is set on a peninsula jutting out into Lake Travis. These twisty trails are constantly flowing up and down across rocks, roots, and hard packed trails. At times the trail gains enough elevation to see out over the lake, which will be waiting for you to jump in after you finish the race!

Ladiga MarathonLadiga Marathon – February 26, 2017 – Piedmont, AL – The Ladiga Marathon course runs on the scenic Chief Ladiga Trail, a pedestrian and cyclist-only paved trail that stretches 33 miles from Anniston, Alabama to the Alabama/Georgia state line. The double out-n-back course runs through Piedmont, Alabama, a quaint, friendly town along the Chief Ladiga Trail and past forests, farmlands and streams.
